We asked our 14 year old son, “What are the best Christmas gifts for teen boys this year?” Here’s his list, straight from the teen boy himself.
In our house, we ask the kids to make a list of a few things they’d like to get for Christmas. We pick out a “big” gift to get them from their list, but then we also try to give them a couple *smaller* things that aren’t on their list. It’s always nice to surprise them on Christmas morning!
The teen years are a bit more challenging to buy for, so I asked my 14 year old son to compile some ideas for all of us. This post is the result of my request: the best Christmas gifts for teen boys, compiled by a teen — my son!
I hope it helps you with ideas, whether you’re a parent looking for smaller, simple gifts, or a friend/aunt/grandparent who just doesn’t want to break the bank.

Best Christmas Gifts For Teen Boys, Without Breaking The Bank
Perfect for being silly and taking pictures while hanging with friends. The army green color is his top pick!
This Teriyaki flavor is the best, by far.
The winter weather dries out his hands, too, and this is a tough moisturizer he won’t be embarrassed to carry with him.
I had no clue what these were, but he mentioned it right off the bat. It props up your cell phone and also gives you a better grip. He particularly likes this Captain America design.
This is a quick and easy way to look good and have a gleaming smile. This one by Auraglow has great reviews.
Um, because all teen boys love Axe. And you need to have this around. The Apollo scent is a favorite in our house.
No fancy flavors for my teen, just their original beeswax lip balm.
They may seem small, but he loves them. And having a bunch is fun to share with friends.
This one has great reviews and it glows in the dark. He always needs more USB ports!
These are bluetooth, waterproof, and come with a case to store them.
You can grab one on Amazon for increments of $25 and up. Great to use for apps, games, or music!

Mvelopes: This is the online budgeting program we personally use and LOVE. In fact, we purchased a lifetime membership several years ago when they offered it to us. It’s like a virtual cash envelope system, and it syncs with your bank accounts. Here’s my full Mvelopes review, or you can click here for a free 30 day trial of Mvelopes.
Personal Capital: Personal Capital is much more detailed than Mvelopes, and is more centered on helping you with your investing rather than your budgeting. You can track your net worth, cash flow, investments, retirement planning, and more. Personal Capital pretty much picks up where Mvelopes has left off. They even offer a free version of their services. Check them out here.
