Hungry while on the Daniel Fast? You’ll love this easy Daniel Fast granola bar recipe. With just four ingredients, they’re super easy to make and can be ready in about 30 minutes! Perfect as a snack or breakfast idea while you’re fasting.
I have a whole list of Daniel Fast snacks (there’s also an easy fruit-and-nut bar recipe on my “snacks” page) and Daniel Fast breakfasts, but I wanted to create a stand-alone post for this particular granola bar recipe.
And, in case you’re wondering, YES, snacks are allowed on the Daniel Fast. They just need to be simple, minimally processed snacks, with no added sweeteners like sugar, stevia, etc. The idea of the Daniel Fast is to abstain from rich-tasting foods, animal products (yes, you’ll be vegan for awhile!), heavy foods, and processed foods.
What you’ll eat during this time of fasting is whole foods: mostly vegetables, fruits, nuts, and whole grains.
We’ve completed the Daniel Fast many times together as a church when my husband was pastor, and also at the church we attended prior to pastoring. It’s always a wonderful, powerful time of growing deeper in the Lord.
Many people have gotten so much from their Daniel Fast that they decide to stay on it indefinitely. Maybe that will be you, too?
Enjoy!

Daniel Fast Granola Bar Recipe
The only ingredients you’ll need in order to make these granola bars are quick oats (not instant oatmeal!), chopped walnuts, raisins, and bananas.
I like to use the smallest raisins I can find so I can get a little taste of them in each bite.
You’ll mash the bananas and then mix everything together in a medium size bowl. I used a large fork to do this.
Then, using my fork, I pressed the mixture evenly into a lightly oiled 8×8 baking dish.
As they’re baking, they smell amazing. There’s just something about the aroma of toasted oats that makes me happy. It’s the simple things, right?
Here they are — out of the oven, cooled, and sliced:
Yum.

5 Star!!! so very good! I made this morning to have an extra snack on my Daniel Fast while at work. I added a generous sprinkling of homemade pumpkin spice. I love there’s no added sweetener other than the natural banana and raisins! I’ll be doing this recipe after the fast, too!

thanks for this great recipe, they are wonderful. I made the first batch with dried unsweetened cherries and pecans and added cinnamon. the second time I made them. I increased the pecans and decreased the fruit a bit. also, in place of a half cup of oatmeal I added a half cup of ground flaxseed and hemp seed mixed. they came out great and I would do them that way again.
