eMeals Review: Is eMeals Worth It?
How Does eMeals Work?
First, you head to their web site and enter your email address to get started. This gives my readers two weeks to try their meal plans out, totally risk-free. Click here to do that.
You’ll be prompted to select your family size and a meal plan style/preference, which you can change next week if you want to try something else. I recommend beginning with the “Budget” meal plan. Or, if you have special dietary requirements, there are tons of options you can choose from.
Here’s what the sign up screen looks like:
Follow the prompts on your screen. You can even select to have your meal plan’s shopping list sent to a local store (like Walmart or Kroger) and simply pull up to get them. They’ll load your groceries into your car for you! I love this because it totally eliminates budget-busters like impulse shopping. You can also use Instacart or Shipt to have them delivered to your home.
The eMeals app is user friendly, and you can use it to pick meals, save favorite recipes, and more. It’s available for iPhone and Android. Here’s a sneak peek at how it works:
What Kind of Meals Plans Does eMeals Offer?
Seriously, the list of options is long! It’s almost as though they customize it to your family’s specific needs.
Here’s a sampling of their meal plan options:
- 30 minute
- Kid friendly
- Budget friendly
- Slow cooker
- Paleo
- Low carb
- Vegan
- Clean eating
- Heart healthy
- Diabetic
- Gluten free
- Vegetarian
- … and more.
Pro Tip: I love that you can change meal plans week-to-week. In other words, if your family is super busy with sports one week (any other football moms here?), you can choose the 30 minute meal plan or slow cooker meal plan. Maybe you’ll have more time to cook the following week, so you change it back to the budget friendly meal plan or clean eating meal plan. Very cool.
What Does eMeals Cost?
Currently, my readers can start with getting two weeks of eMeals for free. After those first two weeks, should you decide to keep using their meal plans, you can sign up for as little as $4.99 a month (with a 12 month subscription). They also offer a three month subscription for $9.99/mo.
Does eMeals Offer a Coupon?
eMeals coupons are rarely available since they give such a generous two week trial offer. However, they do email you a private coupon code during your two week trial period, in the hopes that you’ll decide to stick around awhile!
How to Cancel eMeals
You can cancel by calling eMeals customer service toll-free at (855) 328-2674.
So, Is eMeals Worth It?
Yes, we think so. Trying them out for two weeks doesn’t hurt anything, and they’ll probably save you money on two weeks worth of groceries.
eMeals states on their website that customers report saving about $2,000 on average per year, plus the time they save by having done-for-you meal plans with the option of having someone else (via online grocery shopping or delivery) do all the shopping for you.
If you’re already a budgeting and meal planning ninja, and you find that eMeals doesn’t save you money — it will at least save you time by allowing you to avoid the stores. Remember, you can pull up and have the groceries put in your car, or some stores will even deliver them to your door.
If you choose to stay on with eMeals after the two week trial is over, it’s still a bargain for many busy families. At their cheapest option of $4.99/mo, they’re sure to save you at least that $5 on impulse purchases you would’ve made while shopping… especially if you usually have to bring children with you when you shop.
So what are you waiting for? Give eMeals a try. Click here to try them free for 14 days.
