Searching for the best kids bibles can be overwhelming. Our children have enjoyed many different story bibles over the years, so we’ve put together this list of our favorite kids bibles to share with you today.
My pastor-husband will admit that a few of his favorite sermon illustrations were inspired from reading these bibles with our children! These are engaging and interesting for young and old alike. I’ve tried to make it easy for you by linking directly to each one’s listing details on Amazon.

Best Kids Bibles (That Your Family Will Love to Read)
1 – The Jesus Storybook Bible
When our boys were younger, this was our family’s absolute favorite story Bible. The writing flows beautifully, the pictures are appealing for children, and it gives a thoughtful overview to the story of the Bible. It has a whimsical style that draws the whole family together to listen as it’s read aloud. We loved curling up together with this one as we had our evening family devotions.
The Jesus Storybook Bible is also one of the top-reviewed children’s Bible on Amazon, garnering a rating of five stars by over 90% of the reviewers (as I write this).
2 – The Action Bible
This is one of the Bibles that my oldest son has thoroughly enjoyed the past few years. It’s written in comic book style, and is intended for ages 9-11. The author previously worked for Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and his illustrations are fantastic. Action-packed Bible stories are brought to life in this Action Bible!
3 – The Picture Bible
This is another comic book style Bible, but intended for a slightly younger audience. This works well with kids around the ages of 4-8. The Picture Bible is a classic, it’s been around for many years, and it’s about 800 pages long! It gets two thumbs up from our boys.
4 – The Big Picture Story Bible
We think The Big Picture Story Bible is a great option for pre-school and early elementary children. It works beautifully as a gift Bible, too; I’ve given two away as gifts in the past few months.
5 – The Unofficial Holy Bible for Minecrafters
If your child is smitten with Minecraft, they will love The Unofficial Bible for Minecrafters. It’s a collection of stories, inspired by Bible stories, but with a Minecraft twist. It makes for great family discussion, and has high interest with our kids, but will need to be tethered to actual Bible reading and participation with parents.
