Brittany from The Trucker Wife has created gorgeous (and free!) printables for your homemaking or homekeeping binder.
Printables include a daily list, weekly list, and cover page. She tells us that more are coming soon!
If you don't have a binder, you can view my own homekeeping binder - and what I keep in it - here.

We've hosted Thanksgiving at our home several times, but isn't it nice to get some new ideas each year?
I just love a beautifully - and thoughtfully - decorated table!
Here are a few decor ideas that you may enjoy, too:
Country Living has a sentimental and elegant idea for decorating your table with family photos. I'd like to see them in pretty frames. Aren't you so very thankful for your family? What a simple, frugal, and lovely way to make the day special ~
Pear cookies double as a placeholder / name plate ~

Another idea is to merely tie an autumn leaf around glass votives ~
What about Martha Stewart's idea for "leaves of thanksgiving"... wouldn't it be nice to have each family member write down a thing or two that they are thankful for this year, then arrange all of the leaves in a collage as a keepsake? Each year you could set the previous years' collages out for the family to reminisce and peruse ~

Carmelizing fennel and shallots for a hearty autumn stew
Our recent days have been overflowing with the blessings of friends, family, and church. In addition to homekeeping and homeschooling, I've been helping my husband with scheduling and planning church activities, reaching out to neighbors, and entertaining guests. Spending alone time with God has been more important (urgent!) to us than ever before. We cannot give of ourselves, of our own strength; we must be full of Him and draw from His strength. Haven't you found that to be true, too?
Early last week, we enjoyed the company of dear friends for dinner and dessert. They graciously brought an apricot almond tea cake, and I baked an apple pie and coconut cream pie from scratch...

Did you notice the homegrown tomatoes from a friend and the last of the pretzel bread from supper? We had such a wonderful evening.
The next day, my mother-in-law arrived from the West Indies. We don't see her often, so we made the most of our time together in between my husband's work and church responsibilities. One afternoon we chose to keep things simple and enjoyed a leisurely walk through a local park, capturing memories along the way...

She left to return home early this morning, and now we're focused on cleaning out the guest room and preparing for my mother and nephew to arrive tomorrow afternoon. This weekend is our Pastoral Installation Service, and we'll have a few more guests arriving from out-of-town these next few days.
Very early this morning, I stole a few minutes to finish reading Catherine Levison's book, A Charlotte Mason Education. We're integrating some Mason teaching philosophies into our homeschool and I've found this book an inspiring resource. I'm hoping to begin Levison's next book, More Charlotte Mason Education, and then progress to Ken Ham's book The Lie: Evolution.

I'm a firm believer in the time-saving and budget-friendly benefits of meal planning. I've shared many of my meal plans here with you over the past year and a half. Today, I'd like to share a few meal planning links and ideas from around the web.
:: Kelly @ The Nourishing Home shares a wonderful bi-weekly meal plan at The Better Mom. She also shares many meal plans and ideas on her facebook page, The Nourishing Home. (If you recognize Kelly's name, she had many featured posts here @ LABB over the summer. She's a gem! What a blessing she's been during our move.)
:: Menu Plan Monday is a great link-up that offers hundreds of meal plans. If you are at a loss for ideas or new recipes, it's a great place to visit.
:: Another fun idea is to menu plan with a theme; Simple Organized Living explains how she does this here.
:: Money Saving Mom offers helpful meal planning printables. She also did a series called "31 Days to a Better Grocery Budget" that you don't want to miss!
:: Yes, you can stretch ONE whole chicken into SIX meals. Laura @ Heavenly Homemakers shows you how, here.
:: Looking for a print book to help with meal planning? I gleaned quite a few useful tips from Family Feasts for $75 a Week: A Penny-wise Mom Shares Her Recipe for Cutting Hundreds from Your Monthly Food Bill. You can easily get it from Amazon or check with your local library.

This weekend is our big move. THE big move.
I've been armed with boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape for the last few weeks. Buried in it, actually. And you haven't heard much from me.
(thanks for being patient)
My black magic marker has been one of my very. best. friends.
Our new house has been painted, wallpapered, and visited by handymen, and it's awaiting our arrival.
THIS IS IT!!!
Some of you have offered valuable advice on our Facebook page. My favorite idea was submitted by Laurie Dyer (what great friends she has!):

Tsh, editor of Simple Mom, also wrote this helpful checklist for moving into a new home.
And who knew you could easily order moving supplies via Amazon.com? They have great prices, especially on packing tape
(which I've used LOTS of).
I can hardly wait to share more details with you soon! Thank you for all of your well-wishes and prayers during this time of transition. What a blessing you all have been!
