As a little girl I loved playing outside. I loved Little House on the Prairie (did you see the updated Little House Christmas DVD?!) I’d pretend I was Laura Ingalls and find some little corner of the woods and have myself an adventure.
I’d pretend I was cooking over an open fire and gather little leaves and things for pretend food, then search for a large stick to stir the pot.
I’d collect unusual rocks and twigs.
I’d try to build a make-shift shelter.
And all this got me thinking…
…maybe we should plan a nature adventure this weekend.
We could give it an amazing name, like the Bubbling Brook Adventure Weekend 😀
No? Too much?
How about this — When you go out on your next nature adventure with your family, why not gather some crafting materials along the way? Pick up rocks, twigs, leaves and more and make one of these beautiful nature crafts with your kids.
Here you’ll find ideas from painting leaves to making a sailboat from twigs. So many fun ways to get inspired… and this is the perfect fall family activity as the leaves are changing colors.
