Precious mamas, my brief post today is a personal one, as it encapsulates my heartbeat for this blog. I'm sharing it with you to give you a glimpse into the inspiration behind the name "Like a Bubbling Brook." May you know my heart, be encouraged in your walk, and find inspiration to grow in Him as you visit today and in the days to come.
Dr. Howard Hendricks once shared the story of a professor who stayed up late at night pouring over his books. A passerby, noticing his studying and that his desk light was frequently glowing late at night, asked him, “What keeps you studying? You never seem to stop.”
His answer was, “I would rather my students drink from a bubbling brook than a stagnant pool.”
What about those you have relationships with? Are they drinking from a bubbling brook or a stagnant pool?
"The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook." Proverbs 18:4
Have you let Him shape how you view the world? Convert you? Change you? Have you found it to be a constant, daily process? Are you moving forward in Him?
What isn't moving forward can quickly become stagnant.
When we pursue Him, when we pursue His way of relating with our families and the world around us, it bears fruit in our life. It transforms us. We grow, blossom, and are able to give of ourselves to those around us.
Read your Bible; pray; learn; grow; seek after Him. Speak His truth into the lives of your children and others around you. Grow in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and others (Luke 2:52).
Move forward. Pursue Him.
"...Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word..." Ephesians 5:25,26
Precious mama, begin anew today. Let Him refresh you as you seek after Him. He loves you so!
Warmly,

Wonderful post! Very inspiring. We often need a push…and this is a push in the right direction.
Amen, this is a beautiful post!
Jaime, I was touched by this post. When we’re empty – there’s nothing – absolutely nothing we can give others. Oh – this is my heart’s desire too – to overflow with God’s abundance and truth.
Thank you so much for sharing your heart and vision for this blog. You said it so well.
Great thoughts, Jaime! Thank you for sharing and for your heart to share with women.
